Latest information about the migration from Beskow/Tegner to Dardel

Note what you need to do NOW so things are ready by the 1st of March 2022!

Published Feb 03, 2022

The migration process is well underway for all active projects: most research projects have now been fully transferred to Dardel; for a limited number of projects, the transfer process has been started but is not yet complete.

If you belong to an active project you should now be able to log in to Dardel and have access to your new home directory. Please note, however, that your nobackup and project directories might still be in the process of being transferred and so they may not show up on Dardel. When you can see them again, you can start using them.

Data in /cfs/klemming/nobackup will be moved to Dardel, but will only be kept temporarily. Note that removing the nobackup storage is in line with decisions by the Swedish National Infrastrcture for Computing (SNIC). You must move your data from nobackup before the 1st of March 2022; any data remaining there after that will be removed (without any reminders being sent out). Since there will no longer be any nobackup directories, and as the home directory quotas will be limited on Dardel, projects that require more storage will need to have a storage allocation. For projects that do not already have a storage allocation, the PI should apply for one as soon as possible.  (Hint: Do it now! :) ) It is important to apply well before the 1st of March because it can take some time for the application to be approved, and you also need some time to transfer the data.
