Ekman
In early 2010, a Dell PowerEdge SC1435 dual core Opteron 2.2GHz system was installed at PDC. The system consisted of 1,268 Dell PowerEdge servers connected with an Infiniband 16 Gbit/s interconnect. The theoretical peak performance of the system was 86.024 teraflops and Ekman was 89th in the Top500 list in June 2010 .
Ekman was the most powerful public supercomputer in Sweden when it was installed. It was jointly owned by Stockholm University, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI). The system was dedicated for climate research and flow simulations.
In 2017, after Ekman was decommissioned, parts of it were donated to the University of Sarajevo .
