Adding storage racks to Dardel

Neither Rome nor massive supercomputer systems can be completely built in one day! With Dardel's compute racks and coolant distribution unit (CDU) put in place yesterday, today (on Tuesday the 3rd of August 2021) work commenced on adding the management and storage racks, and connecting things together.

The installation of the compute cabinets and CDU from the day before can be seen here.

As you can imagine, the cargo bay outside the PDC computer hall is now quite packed...
...so it is a good thing that the logistics company comes to the rescue promptly! Now we can open the computer hall and prepare for some work...
...which will mainly consist of adding some more goodies to Dardel. You didn't think it was over yesterday, did you?
In addition to the four compute racks and the CDU, one management rack to rule 'em all has been sneaked in! (Precious, indeed.)
Work continues on many fronts: here the inter-cabinet cooling connections are being installed... (They must get this right because computers - unlike Gollum - do not like getting wet!)
...while someone else prepares to receive the storage racks!
Here comes the first...
...the second...
...and the third, perfect!
Now the disks are being installed in the storage racks, while the electrical and hydraulic connections are being prepared: busy times for everybody!
We'll leave it there for today; soon it will be time for the flipping of the switches and the opening of the valves: our hands are already itching!
For tomorrow's task: let's get connected...
