PDC or NADA/CSC account?

Since PDC and NADA/CSC share Kerberos realm (NADA.KTH.SE), you can access PDC with an account created by NADA/CSC or by PDC. Read on if you want to know what kind of account you have.

PDC account

A PDC account always has it's home directory in the PDC AFS cell pdc.kth.se

So, if you login on any PDC computer and do:

cd ~
pwd

and the output looks like:

/afs/pdc.kth.se/home/u/username

where u is the first letter in your username, then you have a PDC account.

NADA/CSC account

For instance, if you already was (or had been) a student at CSC/NADA when you applied for an account at PDC, we might have given your existing CSC/NADA-account access (login rights) to

PDC's computers. A CSC/NADA account has its home directory located in the AFS cell nada.kth.se If you are using a CSC/NADA account executing:

cd ~
pwd

will give an output similar to:

/afs/nada.kth.se/home/.../

Usually you can locate your CSC/NADA home directory in:

ls /afs/nada.kth.se/home-by-name/u/s/username
where u is the first and s the second letter of your username
