How to select the SNIC cloud resources .

In first phase SNIC Cloud is offering resources of following types

  1. Compute
  2. Storage

How to inform us regarding your selection ?  read the bottom of page.

Compute Resources .

  • 1 EC2 Compute Unit (1 virtual core with 1 EC2 Compute Unit)
  • 160 GB instance storage

  • I/O Performance: Moderate
  $0.085 per hour
 Large Large Instance
  • 7.5 GB memory
  • 4 EC2 Compute Units (2 virtual cores with 2 EC2 Compute Units each)
  • 850 GB instance storage
  • 64-bit platform
  • I/O Performance: High
  $0.34 per hour
XLarge Extra Large Instance
  • 15 GB memory
  • 8 EC2 Compute Units (4 virtual cores with 2 EC2 Compute Units each)
  • 1,690 GB instance storage
  • 64-bit platform
  • I/O Performance: High
  $0.68 per hour

Initially we are offering the following OS platforms , if you need any other OS do let us know.

Storage (Disk) :

Amazon offers storage as EBS volumes (Elastic Block Storage) , it will appear as normal device under /dev/sdf for e.g. 

Current size can be some where between 1 GB to 50 GB . 

How to order resource ?

Send and email to support@pdc.kth.se with 

Subject "SNIC Cloud Resource request" and 

in body write your request as <ComputeType-Platform-Storage>

For example:

  • Micro-Debian6-20GB  (Micro instance with Debian 6 and 20 GB Disk)
  • Small-Ubuntu 10.04-30GB  (Small instance with Ubuntu 10.04 and 30 GB Disk)
