Description of the Swegrid-II cluster at PDC

On behalf of the SweGrid-II initiative and SNIC PDC has procured a cluster that is in full production since May 2008.

The system has 90 compute nodes, three nodes for management and scheduling, for a total of 744 cores (7.92 TF theoretical peak performance, 1.49 TB of main memory, and 13 storage servers with a total of 143TB raw storage capability. Each node has two quad-core Intel Harpertown 2.66GHz CPUs (E5430) with a 1333 MHz front-side bus, and 16Gbyte memory. The platform is Bensley and the chipset is Blackford 5000P.
