Blue Gene Summer Class
PDC, together with IBM, invite you to a two-day course on the IBM Blue Gene, to take place on the KTH campus. The Blue Gene is a massively parallel supercomputer with an architecture that scales up to very large configurations. The Blue Gene at PDC is owned and operated on behalf of the Stockholm Brain Institute (SBI) and the KTH Computational Science and Engineering Centre (KCSE), and has 2048 processors and 1 Tbyte main memory. Programming a highly scalable system takes special considerations. This is a unique chance to learn about highly parallel systems and to test your own code with help of experienced advisers.

A Survey of Practical Virtualisation and Multiplicity

In this fast-paced lecture, we'll explore the field of "multiplicity", which generalises the effected environments of virtualisation and other methods: emulation, isolation, and so on. Our study will revolve around a survey of contemporary systems implementing multiplicity, such as Xen, VirtualBox, QEMU, and so on.
