PDC Seminar: QosCosGrid - formation of application specific Grids
Quasi Opportunistic Supercomputing for Complex Systems on the Grid (www.qoscosgrid.eu)
Design of custom implants for large skull defects
PDC Seminar: Functional and aesthetically correct custom implants are extremely important for patients that have large skull defects (>100 cm2). We present a CAD tool that enables the design of such implants, for the neurocranium region.
A Survey of Practical Virtualisation and Multiplicity
PDC Seminar: What is virtualisation? When and why is it useful? How do I get it? In this fast-paced lecture, we'll explore the field of "multiplicity", which generalises the effected environments of virtualisation and other methods: emulation, isolation, and so on. Our study will revolve around a survey of contemporary systems implementing multiplicity, such as Xen, VirtualBox, QEMU, and so on.
PRACE Petascale Summer School
The PRACE Petascale Summer School targets students from research groups that have the ambition of becoming users of future Petascale systems in Europe. The prerequisites are familiarity with parallel programming and usage of parallel computers.
PDC Summer School: Introduction to High-Performance Computing
This course will give an introduction to the skills needed to utilize high-performance computing resources. The course is intended for Ph.D. and Masters students with interest in the application of High-Performance Computing.
Blue Gene Summer Class
PDC, together with IBM, invite you to a two-day course on the IBM Blue Gene, to take place on the KTH campus. The Blue Gene is a massively parallel supercomputer with an architecture that scales up to very large configurations. The Blue Gene at PDC is owned and operated on behalf of the Stockholm Brain Institute (SBI) and the KTH Computational Science and Engineering Centre (KCSE), and has 2048 processors and 1 Tbyte main memory. Programming a highly scalable system takes special considerations. This is a unique chance to learn about highly parallel systems and to test your own code with help of experienced advisers.
